 Remember that haunting scene in the movie "The Ballad of the Green Berets" where US troops look through their night-vision equipment and see hundreds of Viet Cong stealthily approaching their base under cover of night?  The camera view that the audience sees was probably faked: movie cameras were not capable of night-vision back then. But today night-vision technology has developed to the point where it is now possible to see a person standing 200 yards away on a moonless night.

Lock bumping, which is a type of lock picking is used primarily on "pin tumbler" type locks.  The key used for lock bumping is ironically called a 'bump key'.  A single 'bump key' can be used many times over, all it takes a key of the same type of lockset.
